  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Not at all, it is a waste because it does not deliver what it has been charged to do.

Education of our young is far too important to trust to people who put themselves ahead of the goal. Continuing education is even more important.

RP, it doesn't surprise me that you feel that way, at all. You have a good heart and show that you are a caring person.

However, IMO you easily get your emotions in the way of good sense. When someone says, "Don't spend more on something that is broken", you see, "I hate poor people".

Nothing could be further from the truth.

No, what I see is, "Nothing is more important to us than giving more money to extremely wealthy people".

Kimi, you just don't understand. Just look at how much the wealthy corporate and financial interests have done for this country by being given tax breaks, bailouts and allowed to continue without any significant government regulation (which would severely undermine our economy)!

This is why our economy is currently booming, wages are rising for working class and middle class Americans at an unheard of rate, unemployment is near zero and new jobs are being created at volumes never seen before!

    Snurf...grunt...umpf....wassit.....oh....I just woke up....sorry....

I don't think you can tell the truth and that would include both seeing it and saying it.

    *not_secure_link*www.frac.org/html/hunger_in_the_us/hunger_index.html

And any fool can see that things have not gotten all that much better since 2008 especially for people at or near the bottom. You know like the 2 million who just ran out of unemployment compensation in a country with a 9.5% unemployment rate.

But in the meantime most those same republicans didn't have a second thought about giving the banks $9 TRILLION.

You got that out of a food bill? My god you're daft!

"The legislation would give the government the power to decide what kinds of foods could be sold and what ingredients may be limited in school lunch lines and vending machines. The Agriculture Department would create the standards."

Republicans hate poor people! Or perhaps they are just crazy enough to believe that government should not be deciding what our children eat or do not eat. The people blocking this bill were elected by a constituency that very clearly said "don't tread on me." Whether you agree or disagree with their actions, they are representing that electorate and stopping the inflation of government control. To pass this off as a move against the poor is just intellectuality dishonest, and incredibly cliche. Get some new material.

Maybe we would all be healthier if government banned junk food, forced us to eat our veggies, forced us to exercise daily. Unfortunately we have some politicians, who, for all their faults, still think government has no place in such discussions. Damn them.

You want to pass this bill? Increase school funding without increasing the power of government. Is that too extreme for you? Did you actually fall for the power grab wrapped within innocuous paper? Why are you not mad at democrats for trying to use an important measure like feeding children to further an agenda? I can imagine you as a senator now:

Speaker: The next bill up for vote deals with heating. We wish to increase funds with which the poor can keep their houses heated(this is where kimiko stopped listening). And this bill also includes a transfer of power to the regulatory czar, he will be deciding how hot peoples houses can be and how often they can be heated.

Rep. Senator: I must vote nay, on the account that the government has no business telling people how often they can heat their houses, or how hot those houses can be! Remove the wording that gives government more control and you will have my vote. Until then, you will not.

Senator Kimiko: Who the fuck elected this guy!? He voted no? He obviously does not want poor people to have their houses heated! Plus he's a racist.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I wouldnt panic. The nutrition bill wasnt the last bastion of putting bread in hungry childrens mouths. I never read the bill but they can be scrapped for many reasons. Perhaps it was just a bad piece of legislation serving the interests of commodities brokers and food distributors more than it's intended recipients.

I never saw such hand wringing and sudden moral fortitude when it came to bailing out Wall Street and the Banks. They all got $9 Trillion worth of money for nothing.

I think this is getting ridiculous. In Massachusetts the schools (at least the ones in my area) are open all summer long for an affordable lunch, just like during the school year it's open for a healthy and affordable breakfast before school. For the most part this nutrition bill is basically already in action here and we're not poor because of it, people aren't killing themselves because the government has chosen their meals for them (which is completely not what's happening... holy hyperbole batman!) The main thing that happened is in some schools they got rid of junk food from the food line, but have one or two vending machines that supply it. Other schools have jacked up the price of junk food in the food line. Also vegetables are added to most lunches, because you know how evil vegetables can be for growing kids.

In no way is the state telling you what you can and can't eat, what they are simply doing is telling their schools which fall under their own jurisdiction what the new guidelines are. There are no guidelines for your own table, so if your so against healthy eating then... make your child their own lunch, problem solved.

Also people are disgusting in this thread...

Where's that face palm when you need it? Yes, children should be punished for the actions of their parents... that's what America has become? There's a million and a half reasons why someone could have a kid and then need help raising that kid that results in little or no fault of their own... welcome to the real world, hope you come back soon.

Yes... because "we" (the average person) doesn't get anything back from any of those taxes. They are stolen never to be returned, but yet our roads get repaved, kids go to school, school's get built, mail gets delivered, budgets (mostly local) get balanced, street lights/signs get put in, military defending us all, etc, etc. All by some magic doing that can never be explained. Yup, you don't ever see one cent of your taxes ever again...

It is cheaper to buy junk food than it is to buy healthy.

I'm sure when you go to the grocery store you'll notice this in the pricing.
